The best way to help children is to help their families.  We help families because we believe that children have the right to grow up in loving families where all family members are safe, well cared for, and protected.

At Strategic, we help children and families overcome challenges, solve problems, and make lasting changes.   We believe that transitions are opportunities for changes that matter.  Children and families receive help through the following services.

Our team of therapists provides intensive therapeutic work to prevent the unnecessary removal of at-risk children from their families.  Strategic’s home-based therapy services prevent abuse, promote safety, and empower families.  Professionals at Strategic help clients overcome emotional and behavioral problems to live happier, more satisfied and fulfilled lives.

Our outpatient service is a general practice which serves a wide range of ages and problems typically brought to therapy.  When people need a little help overcoming life’s challenges, Strategic therapists are available to assist them with solving problems and making lasting changes.  Strategic professionals help families turn transitions into opportunities and create lasting changes that matter.

Project Phoenix programs include

Phoenix Early Intervention models a school classroom, counselors work with children in groups and individually developing school success skills.  Children learn to work cooperatively with other children, practice taking turns, and work independently.  Part of their day includes working in activity centers much like they will encounter in kindergarten.  Their day also includes therapeutic group activities and age-appropriate discussions about appropriate behavior.

Phoenix After-School Program helps children manage behavior problems that negatively impact their performance at school and in other social settings.  They participate in therapeutic activities that address their unique needs, while receiving guidance, support, and supervision.

Phoenix School Program assists students directly in the mainstream school setting.  Counselors accompany students to class for one or more hours per day offering individual therapeutic support.  A daily one hour therapeutic activity occurs in a small group setting.

Camp Phoenix is a therapeutic day camp that provides children with emotional and behavioral problems the opportunity to continue treatment throughout the summer months.

All four programs include counseling services for youth and families.

Companions are also assigned to work one-on-one with children and adolescents, assisting them with developing more appropriate social skills; improving decision making and anger management skills; creating a more goal-directed, future orientation; and developing other skills necessary for maintaining positive relationships and creating a positive outlook.  Companion services are typically a component of a continuum of therapeutic interventions.
